FQ Help for Doll Quilt....??

Hi all great to have the blog up and running....thanks Helen!!

I'm just putting a suggestion out there....happy to have it shot down in flames....

How would you feel about sending a FQ to your swap partner so they have some idea of you colour preference....kinda like the Blankets of Love idea...and you build onto the FQ as much or as little as you like....

Just an idea....what do you think???

I like it - great idea. Serves two purposes - you get a quilt in the colours that you like (based on what goes with the FQ, and you also get inspired by someone elses FQ. Fantastic - I'd be in that.

Sounds great, but then we know who is making for us! Is it an equal swap to one another or do you have a different sender to a reciever? Do we send a FQ and its used in the doll quilt for us? (blonde moment here!) xx

Duh! I just realised that would give away who is making for us... woops. Perhaps an easier way to get help would be for each of us to post a picture of a few fabrics we like to either flickr or here and that would give some inspiration. The quilter would not have to use the exact fabric (some might be hard to find) but use the photo as an idea starter so they know what sorts of things to look for when they go fabric shopping (or hunt through their stash). WDYT?

THC - normally you have a different sender to receiver to help keep it all secret and that way you get a surprise in the post. The swaps I have been involved in previously allow you to post progress pics in your blog but the receiver does not know which one is for them.

Or, how about you post the FQ to me, and then I post the FQ onto your swapee?? That would work, I don't find doing that. WDYT?

I like the idea of posting updates and sneak peaks on blogs...but if it is your FQ then you will know who you've got...??

If Helen is happy to foward them on I was thinking pop it in an envelope with a stamp (no address no return sender) and then in an envelop addressed to Helen who can post it on?

Oh too many ideas....I think we let Helen as the organiser make the final decision...
